For professional web design - all formatting should be done with Cascading Style Sheets. The best way to learn them is to have a good reference and to try out different formatting options. The best place for this is the "Try it Yourself" section of W3Schools

If your current code is sloppy (bad or no use of CSS) - you can correct relatively easily. Simply go to the validator at http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_input - and after validation use the HTML Tidy tool. This tool is also available at
